I don't know why people are posting negative reviews about this place. Sure, there can be some improvements, but the service and food are great for me everytime! My husband and I love going there for a hookah - I mean c'mon, who wants to travel to West Palm for Off the Hookah when you can have a hookah right here in Palm Beach Gardens? We just tried the Curry for the first time about a month ago, and wow! Awesome. The heat was great and made us go back for more - in fact, I'm craving it just writing about it. My husband likes the lamb curry, but I prefer the chicken and vegetable curry. The girls that run it are also very nice and give great suggestions off the menu - I tried the Shroom fries and loved them! I also love getting the hummus and pita bread. Their gyro is pretty good too, I sometimes get that with fries and I've never been unsatisfied with it. Most people don't know, but at concert days in downtown at the gardens, you can sit at MJs, enjoying a hookah and have a great view of the stage and hear the music perfectly. I think they are the best seats there! I love it at MJs.

I'm a big fan and ate here twice in a week. The food is amazing, the best salmon I've ever had, samosas are the reason I'll be a regular here and the service is wonderful. Very interesting selection of dishes from Indian curry, to classic Italian pastas and Mexican food. If you have a picky eater in your group this place is full of options. Went back for Mother's Day and Mama loved everything we ordered. Although I already have my favorites I want to try the entire menu. Also great drinks, delicious teas and super affordable prices. Love it!!!

3 stars for being a quiet, friendly place to eat. I had the portobello "fries" and lamb and vegetable curry. The fries were decent, and the curry was more than ok. It had just the right amount of spice, good flavor, and the naan was very fresh and tasty. The lamb was tender and moist. The veggies were not great, but far from inedible. I don't think some of the reviewers were totally fair, but I think this place will struggle with sticking around with all the competition so close by if they don't find a way to "blow people away". Step it up, and you'll do fine.

Ok, I just read the reviews for this place and obviously the 4 and 5 star reviews were written by the owner or a family member of the owner. I mean come on..."perfectly diced olives" ..."dinner mate"..no one writes like that in a review...you're not fooling anyone buddy. Anyway, the real reviews were disturbingly accurate. I started with the hummus. Horrible. I grew up eating hummus my whole life and have had many variations of it as well. The hummus tasted like straight salt and the pita bread was microwaved to a crisp. Whoever .made it had no idea what they were doing. I ordered a burger for lunch and again it was horrible. I asked for medium well but it was rare. I took one bite and lost my appetite. The service is just awful, and our waitress was so clueless about everything on the menu. Don't eat here. Trust me .

Tried the Chicken & Vegetable Curry tonight. Spicy & delish! (Heat at about 3 out of 5 maybe.)

Not many people know this, but they have the best hookah EVER! I have been to a lot of different places, and they are all dirty and packed. They have a great selection! The food is fantastic!! Burgers are great and the staff is so kind.

We were skeptical when the place was completely empty at 7:30 on a Friday night. Even more suspicious was the weird mix of cuisines: Indian, Milddle Eastern, burgers, etc? And all at absurdly low prices given the location. But we gave it a shot and were more than pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was genuinely pleasant and attentive. The food was very good. Not GREAT, but worth coming back for at least once. (And that's saying a lot since we are both fairly picky and there are lots of nice restaurants in the area.) The portions are on the smaller side. Not too small, but if you were thinking of eating half and getting the rest to go, that probably won't happen. The food was nicely prepared, and fresh. (That's my main reason for liking the place.) as I said, the prices were really low. $15 for a salmon dish? Unheard of in this neighborhood. The decor is low-key and somewhat eclectic. It also seems like they renovated from what was there previously but only got about 80% done. There are a few weird things that stand out, like the bare rear wall of the bar, and partially exposed kitchen equipment. And it was clean. But knowing all that up front, this place is pretty good! Oh, and by 8 pm they got another 4 or 5 tables filled so we weren't the only ones there.

Delicious food and excellent service from a comfortable family owned restaurant. Great salads, pastas, sandwiches, curries, appetizers, desserts and smoothies. The portobello "'shroom fries" are a standout -- way more savory and flavorful than any others I've had. Brown sugar & mustard glazed salmon is extremely tasty. Also love the carmelized grilled peaches salad. The baba ghanoush is a yummy appetizer. Casual ambience... good for families, friends or solo dining.

This place is a mess! The table was so loose that when I leaned on the table it almost thew my friends hot soup across the room. There are unfinished walls, wires and plugs. I cannot imagine how they got an occupancy permit. This place looks like a home made construction site. Vegetables were obviously reheated frozen and the curry had been reheated many times. Fail. They need to reset and start over. There needs to be an Indian restaurant in Gardens, but this one ain't it!

Service was great even on busy valentine's day. Minestrone soup surprisingly good chicken and vege curry was nice and hot. Rack of lamb was excellent but a small portion if you are very hungry. Waiting for our hookah and coffee now

Seriously awful. Don't waste your time or money here. Service was a disaster, food was worse. The thai steak salad came with none of the items listed on the menu, it's a grilled steak on a bag of store bought lettuce. The burger is tiny, my husband and I were sharing it with another curry dish and it was a joke, we barely got two bites each on an enormous roll. Our waitress was lovely but the kitchen was totally overwhelmed with staff had no idea what they were doing. This was a Saturday night. They sent out eggplant dip to apologize for the wait and it had no taste at all, was like purple glop. The only decent dish was the lamb curry and it was edible, that's about all I can say for it but that's better than the three other plates.

The people there are very nice. The food was ok... The curry dish I has was pretty good. My wife and son ate American dishes. Small amount of food for the price and was on par with Fridays, just a fancy plate. I liked the lighting, but disliked the cheap wall paper.

Average at best. French onion soup was not properly made. Price for meal was ok. Interior booths worn out. Saving grace is the staff was very attentive. Close to movie theatre, or else I would have never had a meal there.

Went here the other day at the suggestion of a friend, I never new this place existed! I had the vege curry, it was very good and I would definitely go back!

I had the Indian veggie samosas. They were delicious!. The best I ever had. Only $4 for two large ones. It was my meal. Nice friendly service. I had no idea they had Indian food. I wouldn't have thought that from the name of the place. They also have Italian food. I am looking forward to trying something else out on my next visit.

terrible. food, service, atmosphere were all bad. Even the paint job for the place is bad.

Great curry! Great piccata! Great Cheese Steak! Great service! Whoever rates this place lower than 5 stars was obviously looking to have a bad night. Everyone in our family was happy with the food, service, and atmosphere.

I could not disagree with the other reviews more! The 'shroom fries were absolutely delicious, the guacamole was fantastic (with freshly made chips!), and while I did not try it, my dinner mate thoroughly enjoyed the chicken curry. In addition to the fresh and tasty food, the service was friendly and efficient. I will absolutely be visiting again!

I love MJ's! I work fairly nearby and come all the time. It's definitely one of the most eclectic places I've been. The decor is a mish-mash of 50's diner and upscale and sports bar. The food is fantastic! When on the cheap, I'll get a meatball sub or a cheesesteak, but their curry is to die for! Just about anything you can think of is on the menu. And the serve Hookah now!! What's not to love?

Ok. this place was not my first choice EVERYTHING unforgivably happened exactly as is written normally my reviews are not dramatic but as you will read this place was a exception. 1= We arrived it was about 65 degrees outside a little to cold for me. so we tried inside only to find the ac was on making it a little colder but at least no breeze so whatever here we are 2= I order a coffee my wife gets a water 3= 5 min later my wife gets her water and i'm told they don't have any coffee brewed I will have to wait 4= 10 min later they take our order. I order a burger and my wife gets nachos .. simple enough right? 5= 5 min later i remind them of my coffee 6= 4 min later out of boredom i notice that there is paint randomly everywhere. Apparently they had there staff pain the ceiling and it looks horrible I also notice the owner has bought 2 new flat screens and is currently installing them on the wall in the stall behind me and my wife... ok do you know your open for business?!? vrrr vrrr grrrr goes the drill and drywall dust is coating the atmosphere like a fog machine. 7= 3 min later i get my coffee in a large stained mug :( 8= 4 min later i can't find my waitress there are only 2 on and the other one is sitting at a table of friends chatting it up. how very inconvenient they have customers. right 9= 5 min later the owners wife has also arrived now and they start arguing over the placement of the tv's while she is also showing her shopping bags to the waitresses one of which is mine "hey waitress" I flag her down like a kid raising his hand in junior high because he knows the answer to a question. (the question being= where has my waitress gone?!?) her eyes get that ohh no look as she rushes to the cook who is propped up on the stove enjoying this spectacle 10= here is the food. Bagged nacho chips with now could nacho sauce and a smashed chunk of Philly steak on top A pathetic attempt at a burger weighing at most a measly 4 ounces way over cooked from my medium rare with a side of 1/2 inch cut onions and wilted lettuce wow really I was so hungry to. I just couldn't bring myself to eat this poor excuse for food it. famished was the word I had been moving and packing all day. and wanted some food any edible product so badly but yet couldn't bring my self to eat this. my wife can now see I am mad and offers to pick up some fast food because she knows that this food is just bad 10= 15 min later the waitress comes back to check on the food which is still at the table i tried to nicely tell her what happened but ended up raging until she said sorry don't worry about it just go. All the while the owner is installing his flat screen TV. WOW

The curry is the best around! The owners should make this nothing but Indian! They are very courteous and accommodating. I never had anything else but the curry, therefore, I base my rating on that

MJ's Fresh is nestled in the 2nd floor of Downtown at the Gardens PBG. Their menu is eclectic with Mexican, American and Indian thrown in. I'm really into salads these days and absolutely fell in love with their mediterranean salad. Super fresh, tasty and healthy. Fresh juicy olives, feta and romain perfectly diced. Topped with perfectly grilled chicken its amazing. The only thing that beats that salad on their menu is the homemade hummus. Danielle was our server last night -- she came by regularly to make sure we didn't need anything else. The place is family owned and it shows. Its not as polished as a corporate chain but they really take care of you.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
